The Singida Wind East Africa Project Receives Support From President Barack Obama and the White House.

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, June 30, 2013:  Wind East Africa is proud to share a noteworthy development of our Singida Wind project receiving support from President Barack Obama and the White House in the "Power Africa Initiative" launched June 30th, 2013.

This comes through our partners Aldwych International which has committed to developing 400 MW of clean, wind power in Kenya and Tanzania – which will represent the first large-scale wind projects in each of these countries, and an associated investment of $1.1 billion.

This is a much-welcomed development to our project, which already enjoys the support of the Government of Tanzania, Tanesco and the World Bank.

The Shareholders of the Singida Wind East Africa Project are Six Telecoms, Aldwych International and the International Finance Corporation [IFC] the investment arm of the World Bank.
