EPIQ STARS TOUR TO KICK OFF IN DODOMA THIS FRIDAY

Telecom Company, Zantel, sole sponsors of Epiq Bongo Star Search have today announced the launch of ‘Epiq Stars Tour’ due to start this Friday at Maisha Club in Dodoma, to be followed by Dar es Salaam.

The tour will feature 7 finalists of EBSS namely Menina, Nsami, Husna, Wababa, Geofrey Levis, Norman Severino and not forgetting the overall winner, Walter Chillambo who also was awarded 50 Million.

This is the first time Epiq BSS contestants are given a region tour, where they will also be able to sing their own songs, since the premier of the competition in 2006.

Major highlight of the night will be the Epiq BSS winner, Walter Chillambo, who will be releasing his song after being eagerly anticipated by music fans since the end of the competition in November last year.

While some artists’ have already released their songs and they are doing well, like Menina’s Dream tonight, Muongo of Nsami, Wababa’s My Wife and Husna Nawamimina, the tour is expected to rock music industry.

Speaking during the launch, Senior Manager, Brand and Communication,Awaichi Mawalla said the aim of the show is to build foundation for the youth after launching their career during Epiq BSS.

‘Our major aim for sponsoring Epiq BSS was not to give major prize for the winner, but in the contrary, we wanted to transform the lives of these kids’ said Mawalla.

‘We want to show people that with proper investment everything can be a success, and for sure, these youngsters will be stars and hence be able to earn their own lives’ insisted Mawalla.

On their side, contestants expressed their delight for being included in the tour, and thanked Zantel for helping them to record the songs, promotion and now this tour.

‘Zantel has shown great difference to other sponsors, because many companies have always distanced themselves from anything shortly after the end of the show, but Zantel has been with us since recording and now this tour, we are really grateful’ said Nsami, one of Epiq BSS contestants.

'Dodoma get ready this Friday'

The tour will also serve as a great opportunity for Zantel and contestants to thank their fans for supporting them during the show.

‘I am very excited for this tour, and I believe this will be a great opportunity to meet my fans in the regions as an appreciation to the support they had given us during competition’ said EBSS winner, Walter Chillambo.

Other artists who will be accompanying the contestants are Barnaba, Ben Paul, Linah and Ali Nipishe.
