Mkurugenzi Mkuu mpya wa Zantel, Pratap Ghose akizungumza na waandishi wa habari hivi karibuni

Dar es Salaam-April 22,2013: Kampuni ya simu za mikononi ya Zantel imemteua na kumtangaza, Pratap Ghose, kuwa Mkurugenzi Mtendaji mpya wa Zantel Tanzania.

Kabla ya uteuzi huu, Pratap ambaye ana miaka 18 ya uzoefu kwenye sekta mbalimbali ikiwemo mawasiliano alikuwa makamu wa Rais wa Etisalat, Uchumi na ukuzaji wa biashara kwa kanda ya Afrika.

Pratap anachukua nafasi ya Ali Bin Jarsh ambaye ameiongoza Zantel kwa miaka miwili na kuipatia mafanikio makubwa.

Bwana Pratap pia ameshikilia nafasi mbalimbali ikiwemo Afsa fedha mkuu wa kampuni dada ya Etisalat, India pamoja na kuwa mjumbe wa bodi ya wakurugenzi wa kampuni ya Atlantique kanda ya Afrika magharibi.

Pratap pia ana uzoefu mkubwa wa soko la Tanzania akiwa amefanya kazi kama mshauri wa Zantel na pia kwa kipndi cha miaka miwili alikuwa Afsa fedha mkuu wa TIGO Tanzania.

Ikizungumzia uteuzi wake, Zantel Tanzania imesema imefurahishwa na ujio wa bwana Pratap kwani uzoefu wake kutoka nchi za India, Nigeria pamoja na Mashariki ya Kati utaipeleka mbali kampuni yao.

Pratap ana shahada ya juu katika biashara kutoka chuo cha biashara cha Melbourne na pia ni mhasibu aliyebobea. Akiwa Zantel, Pratap atakuwa na jukumu la kuongeza idadi ya wateja, pamoja na kusimamia ukuaji wa kampuni na vyanzo tofauti vya mapato.

Epiq Stars tour has rocked Dodoma city this weekend at a show held at Maisha Club, giving Dodoma music fans a night to remember.

In a night where the club was at its full capacity, Epiq BSS contestants, Menina, Nsami, Husna, Wababa, Norman, Godfrey and Walter with accompanying Bongo flavor stars, Ben Paul, Linah, Barnaba and Ali Nipishe entertained the crowds with performance after performance.

The show started at 11 pm with curtain raising performance from Ali Nipishe of THT with his song, ‘MY’ before giving way to Norman with his song ‘Si wewe’ which made the crowd to cheer at the top of their voice.

Next on stage was Godfrey Levis who auditioned in Dodoma for EBSS. It was a combination of great stage presence and his song ‘MAYA’ which made fans to flood the dance floor to dance along with Godfrey.

It was then the time for Tanzanian song bird, Linah, who performed her couple of hit songs before introducing another Epiq BSS girl, Nsami where they sung Linah’s song ‘Lonely’ together before leaving the stage for Nsami to perform her own song, ‘MUONGO’.

The ululating crowds could get enough of the artists as they were cheering for more and more songs, when the Taarab girl, Husna got on stage to give out an outstanding performance with her impressive dancing skills.

Male vocalist of the year, Barnaba got on stage to mellow his  Sorry and gubegube hits, before introducing another former EBSS hit maker, Menina with her song ‘Dream tonight’.

The night was getting crazier and out of hand when Wababa, who many thought he would have claimed the EBSS tittle got on stage to perform his songs, ‘My Wife’ and ‘Kitorondo’.

Last but not least, it was the time for the most anticipated artists on stage, Ben Paul and Walter. Ben Paul went first and performed his three hits including Pete, and welcomed on stage the winner, Walter to perform together ‘Maneno’.

With the crowd cheering at the top of their voice and asking for him to repeat the songs, Walter sung his two own songs, ‘Siachi’, and ‘Mamy Love’, a performance which definitely made a statement of why he was crowned the winner.

Speaking after the show, most fans were of the opinion that this year EBSS artist would transfigure the music industry.

‘All of them are unique in their own way, and they are great entertainers, we believe if they are given support they will reach very far’ said Malik Abdul, a Dodoma resident.

The show’s next stop is Dar es Salaam at the end of the month to then be followed by another in Mtwara.

EPIQ STARS TOUR TO KICK OFF IN DODOMA THIS FRIDAY

Telecom Company, Zantel, sole sponsors of Epiq Bongo Star Search have today announced the launch of ‘Epiq Stars Tour’ due to start this Friday at Maisha Club in Dodoma, to be followed by Dar es Salaam.

The tour will feature 7 finalists of EBSS namely Menina, Nsami, Husna, Wababa, Geofrey Levis, Norman Severino and not forgetting the overall winner, Walter Chillambo who also was awarded 50 Million.

This is the first time Epiq BSS contestants are given a region tour, where they will also be able to sing their own songs, since the premier of the competition in 2006.

Major highlight of the night will be the Epiq BSS winner, Walter Chillambo, who will be releasing his song after being eagerly anticipated by music fans since the end of the competition in November last year.

While some artists’ have already released their songs and they are doing well, like Menina’s Dream tonight, Muongo of Nsami, Wababa’s My Wife and Husna Nawamimina, the tour is expected to rock music industry.

Speaking during the launch, Senior Manager, Brand and Communication,Awaichi Mawalla said the aim of the show is to build foundation for the youth after launching their career during Epiq BSS.

‘Our major aim for sponsoring Epiq BSS was not to give major prize for the winner, but in the contrary, we wanted to transform the lives of these kids’ said Mawalla.

‘We want to show people that with proper investment everything can be a success, and for sure, these youngsters will be stars and hence be able to earn their own lives’ insisted Mawalla.

On their side, contestants expressed their delight for being included in the tour, and thanked Zantel for helping them to record the songs, promotion and now this tour.

‘Zantel has shown great difference to other sponsors, because many companies have always distanced themselves from anything shortly after the end of the show, but Zantel has been with us since recording and now this tour, we are really grateful’ said Nsami, one of Epiq BSS contestants.

The tour will also serve as a great opportunity for Zantel and contestants to thank their fans for supporting them during the show.

‘I am very excited for this tour, and I believe this will be a great opportunity to meet my fans in the regions as an appreciation to the support they had given us during competition’ said EBSS winner, Walter Chillambo.

Other artists who will be accompanying the contestants are Barnaba, Ben Paul, Linah and Ali Nipishe.
